5D Mk IV – EF 50mm f/1.2L – 1/250, f/2.2, ISO 100

Today we visited family so lots of pic opportunities. I brought the 50mm prime lens and the 70-200mm. I ultimately didn’t use the big lens and stuck with the 50mm. One thing I’ve noticed with the 50mm (and, the same goes for all lenses) is that even though it has a wide open aperture of f/1.2, it benefits greatly with lots of light. Most shots today, I would have had better results with a flash, but since the Photo of the Day is also about experimenting and understanding your equipment, I opted to forgo the flash.

The outside pic (Photo of the Day) was the best, but it too could have benefited from more light. Anyway, these are the photos. Enjoy!
