5D Mk IV – EF 50mm f/1.2L – 1/125, f11, ISO 100 & EF 70-200mm – 1/1250, f/3.2, ISO 100
Well it turned out to be an artsy photo day! The 5D Mk IV has a feature called ‘Multiple Exposures’ that I have never used. The Photo of the Day was the first time I have used it – well, I did try some practice shots initially today. I set the Multiple Exposures settings to handle 2 photos; I could have done more but I didn’t know what I was doing so I went the conservative route.
Anyway, I used two different lenses. I used the 50mm for the portrait silhouette. In the future, instead of an umbrella, I should try my large softbox. For the flag, I used the 70-200mm and went outside. What is interesting is that all workflows, except a little bit of post-shot cropping, was done in camera. I could have done this in Photoshop, but I think the workflows would be more tedious. All in all, I like how it turned out. There are other in-camera settings I can try so you will likely see more of this in the future!
FYI, I did set up the camera to save the separate images. You can see them below prior to the merge and cropping. Yes, I think it’s time to retire and replace the flag.
This is really cool! I like the end result !
Thanks!
So interesting how you did this!
