5D Mk IV – EF 50mm f/1.2L – Einstein 640W Strobes – 1/125, f/13, ISO 100, Spot Meter
Simple day today. High key picture taken in respect for Purdue winning their first game in the NCAA tournament against Yale: 78 – 56. They looked real good. Hope they can keep it up!
As for the photo, I used the 50mm prime lens set at an aperture of f/13. I was pretty close to Boilermaker Pete and I didn’t want a wide open aperture as I wanted to keep it all in focus. The focal point was the top of the ‘P’. The hammer was the closest to me and you can see a little softness in it. Otherwise, I used an Einstein set pretty high right next to the lens, and another on top pointing down. In post-processing, I really jacked up the contrast. What I need to do is build a product box which is all white and smooth. That will alleviate any shadows introduced from the creases and folds of the white fabric.
Cheers.
I remember when you made this!
