‘Weeds’
5D Mk IV – EF 50mm L – 1/160, f/5, ISO 400, Eval Meter
Interesting day, photo wise. I started out the day playing around with the built-in flash on the G7 X and using the 2nd curtain sync. Took quite a few pictures actually. However, I then went and mowed the lawn. As I was mowing, I was amazed that some areas of the yard were so full of weeds even though we put fertilizer / weed killer on it. It’s only been a little over a week that it was applied, so it probably requires a little more time. Anyway, I then thought I’d take a wide picture of a section of the yard to show the weeds – but that would be boring, right? I then got to looking at a dandelion up close and thought, damn, this thing really is pretty.
So, I got down low to the ground and focused on a single dandelion weed. I snapped several photos, and the result is the Photo of the Day. Up close, this thing is really beautiful, but having a bunch in the yard is nasty. I suppose there are varying degrees of beauty with a single object.
This photo of the dog tennis ball was a test of the 2nd curtain sync. I’ll explain more about this in an upcoming post. I just happened to like this pic. By the way, when the hell is it going to get, and stay, warm? The high today was only 55, and it’s May 1st for Pete’s sake!
Another great shot!! Very pretty colors!
