Canon G7 X Mk II – Onboard Flash – 1/250, f/5.6, ISO 125, Eval Meter
The weather today was exactly the same as yesterday and I, once again, fretted over what the Photo of the Day would be. However, I remembered from a walk around the house the other day that there was a patches of mushrooms growing on the side. I got the G7 X, set it to Macro mode, popped up the flash and snapped some pics. I really got into the grass on this one to try and give it the perspective of the mushroom.
I used the G7 for three reasons: 1) It was still raining and the ground was really wet and I didn’t want to put the 5D in that, 2) the G7 has a tilting screen that allows you to get in virtually any position without your body having to do the same (I would have to been laying on wet ground if I used the 5D), and 3) Since the G7 will be my primary camera on vacation, I wanted to practice more with it.
Oh, if you are wondering what that is on the mushroom in the pic below, it’s not a worm. It’s bird shit!
Love the green of the grass against the brown of the mushroom!
