Canon %D Mk IV – EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II – 1/60, f/5, ISO 200, Eval Meter

Lots of action on the lower deck today. That’s where the PotD and the backup were taken. Neither photo is very technical or ‘artsy’. Let’s just call them documentary photos. The hardest part about the PotD was getting the exposure correct without using a flash. I had to bump the ISO up a tad bit to help with the shadows while keeping the bright spots in check. In post-processing, I had to bring the highlights way down. In the end, I think you can tell that’s bird poop.

Well, our little robin baby didn’t return today, but he did leave us quite the mess as a present to clean up. Judging by the number of piles of poop, Momma kept him well fed. I do hope he made it up into the trees. We didn’t see any feathers, or such to believe a cat got him, so yeah, he’s up in a tree.

The backup photo is of one our plants out back. The %$#@!! squirrels keep digging them up. We heard coffee grounds repel them so about a month ago, we started putting used grounds on the soil. It worked for a few weeks, then the digging started again. I guess we have to put the coffee grounds on more often.
