Canon 5D Mk IV – EF 16-35mm F/2.8 L – 1/100, f/2.8, ISO 100, Eval Meter

Today was an ‘Oddities in Pictures’ type of day. I switched up lenses to my 16-35mm landscape lens and went outside to initially take some photos of the sky. We were expecting storms earlier, but when I went out to take pics, it didn’t seem so bad. As I was walking around the yard, I glanced at a tree that had a rope around a branch and realized this one had possibilities. I got closer and saw the nylon rope was actually growing out of the tree. Now, we initially used the rope to secure our hammock, but I’m not sure we’ve put the hammock up since the 2016 storm. What is interesting is the branch that has the rope coming out of it looks to be quite healthy.

The backup image is of a little fella I had come visit me today on the back deck this afternoon. He was initially observed walking on the back of a chair, then he climbed down on an arm, eventually getting a ride on my hand where I took him to a plant.

Neither image was technically challenging. The big difference is with the bug, I had to run and grab the G7 X as I didn’t have the right lens on the 5D. That shot was a little more difficult. I had to hold the camera left-handed and snap the pics. It’s not entirely focused, but oh well. Anybody know what type of bug this is?
