‘The Window’

This PotD actually was taken on May 17, 2022. You see, with the PotD project coming to an end, I’m taking some time to go back and review all the photos I’ve taken (thousands, but more on that in another post). I am compiling a small group of pics that I’m calling the ‘Best of 2022’. This is just a fraction of all the photos I’ve taken but constitute the best photos in terms of technical aspects, composition, and style. I was looking and realized that this simple pic from our Hawaii trip was never posted. Here’s why: this was taken first thing in the morning on the day we went to Pearl Harbor. In other words, it got lost in all the photos taken that day. I remember taking it at the time and thought it would make a cool photo.

Now, in full disclosure, this has been heavily post-processed in both Lightroom and Photoshop. This was originally taken as a GoPro Superphoto. Now I really like that version, but I thought I’d try to transform the x and y axis, adjust the aspect ratio, and do some other cleanup. The end result is today’s PotD as well as included in the Best of 2022. See the original photo below.

By the way, we had our granddaughter over for the weekend, and I took plenty of photos. However, I think she’s on to me now so is not as willing of a participant for me to get photos of her.
