This PotW goes back to February where I made a short trip to the National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, Ohio. Most of the time was spent in the WW2 gallery, but while I was up in the cafeteria area, I managed to capture 9 shots of the Cold War gallery. I stitched them together in a panorama and this PotW is the result. To give you an idea how large this museum is, the big plane to the left of center is a Convair B-36 “Peacemaker”. Its wingspan is over 230 ft long! What is amazing about this pic is there is not a single person in view! February is apparently the best time to visit.
What other planes can you see? There a KC-97 Stratotanker, a B-58, a B-47, a U-2, an SR-71, a C-133, and a B-1 among many others.
This museum is a national treasure and I can’t wait to get back!
