Hey there! This is me – Timothy (Tim) Collins, aka Tango Charlie (my career choices used the phonetic alphabet extensively). I’m an Air Force Vet, a Retired State Trooper, and a graduate of Purdue’s Krannert Graduate School of Business which led to a second career in Public Safety Software as a Product and Project Manager. Above all else, I have a love of photography that has spanned 45+ years.
In 2022, I made a single resolution – to take at least one photograph a day. My plan was that this would make me a better photographer. This means not only in my ability to get the proper exposure and composition, but to try new techniques and continue learning. I consider myself a low level semi-pro – I’ve sold some portrait work in the past and I do stock photography. I’ve used Adobe Lightroom extensively since version 1 came out in 2007. My point is there is so much more to learn. I certainly feel I’ve gotten stale with Lightroom – there’s lots that I haven’t even explored.
I started the 2022 Project 365 by posting my daily photo on our family message channel. After about 15 days, I realized this was going to overload the storage capability of our phones (ok, my phone). So, I set up this website primarily to document the project, but also share some of the other photographs I’ve taken.
Other things about me: Husband to my beautiful bride (42 year anniversary is this year), father to two great adult children (my kids), proud Grandfather to two incredible grandchildren, Scuba Instructor (yes, I love underwater photography), woodworker, endurance cycler, beer brewer, hiker, FAA certified drone pilot – ok I have too many hobbies. Including all these in my photography is the ultimate goal.
The photo of me jamming on the guitar is a self-portrait. Full disclosure being that I can’t play the guitar. I took this pic in front of a black curtain using Einstein studio lights. In my right hand doing the strumming is a remote control. At least I think I got the D chord correct!
