Canon 5D Mk IV – TS-E 24mm f/3,5L II – various shutter speeds, f/8, ISO 100, Eval Meter
So, in order to finish this project at 52 weeks, this last week is a little long. Anyway, this pic is from February 11, 2026. For the last several years I’ve made an annual trek to the National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, OH. It is a special place, but also extremely big comprised of 4 aircraft hangars, a missile hangar, two cafeterias, a gift shop, an IMAX theater, an outdoor air park, and a memorial park.
This is a High Dynamic Range Panorama (24 pics) of the engine nacelles on the XB–70 Valkyrie. Designed by North American Aviation in the late 1950s, the Valkyrie was a large six-engine, delta-winged aircraft able to fly Mach 3+ at an altitude of 70,000 feet. However, only two were made, and one of those crashed after colliding with an F-104 Starfighter while flying in close formation. This is the only remaining one.
The aircraft was flown to the museum on 4 February 1969, following the conclusion of the XB-70 testing program. It resides in the Research and Development hangar.
