Canon 5D Mk IV, EF 24 – 70mm 2.8L II (70mm) – Einstein Studio Lights – 1/125, f/16, ISO 100

Well my new remote trigger came in the mail today! It’s a Vello Shutterboss 4.0 and it is sweet. What better way to try it out than practice taking a self portrait with some high key lighting. Note that I did not use a wide open aperture, but instead jacked up the left studio strobe to spread the light on the background. On the left strobe I had a 22 inch silver, high output beauty dish with a diffusion sock. The right strobe was set almost to ground level and had a set of barn doors angled up. This strobe was toned down enough to add some depth and not too much shadow. A 10″ x 36″ stripbox was used as a hair light from the top. Some people like this style of photography; me, not so much. I put some vignette in the photo to help balance the light out.
