Canon 7G X Mk II – 1/1250, f/6.3, ISO 125
From a technical and compositional perspective, there is nothing special about today’s Photo of the Day. On second thought, I did take it with one hand from my sunroof while driving down the road going toward home. So that has to count for something!
Anyway, this is supposed to be progress? We have lived in this area for 29 years, and there has never been a telephone pole on this stretch of road. Now we have these 50 ft monstrosities. I suspect these are here because the field on the right may be turned into a housing division – or so we heard. The other reason may, or may not, be due to the windmills. You can see them in the background. With the windmills, they are upgrading much of the electrical grid. These metal poles could be a part of that project.
A potential positive would be if this helps decrease the number of power outages, especially in the winter. God knows we have our share of those. It’s kind of irritating when the power goes out and you walk outside and see the windmills still turning with the light glowing on top. Just saying…
Wow! So crazy to see these up on that road.
