Canon G7 X Mk II – 1/320, f/6.3, ISO 125, Eval Meter
Today started out as a light day. We were originally going to Haunama Bay to snorkel. However, the weather wasn’t cooperating – it was windy and spitting rain. We decided instead to hike Diamondhead Crater. Better to do it today than in the blazing sun. It turned out to be a challenging hike , but fun. It was all uphill through a combination of rugged rock path, stairs, and tunnels. Getting to the top provided us with the best view of Honolulu on the island. The Photo of the Day is a panorama of 3 images stitched together. It is representative of the weather though – kinda dreary, but still, the view was awesome.
I took numerous other photos as usual, and because I like macro, I had to include the below shot. If I knew flowers, I could tell you what I shot. You’ll have to settle for the beauty of the petal instead.
Apparently, they have a problem with feral cats at the Diamondhead Park…..
Since we were up over 760 ft and looking down over Waikiki, I had no choice but to try a tilt-shift shot of the area. The below shot is just east of Honolulu and at the base of Diamondhead. This is not a true tilt-shift since the Powershot G7 is using software and not an actual tilt-shift lens. However, it still provides that unique ‘miniature perspective’.
Lastly, here is a photo of the Diamondhead Crater from the apex looking into the center. The crater has a diameter of 3/4 mile. The hike to the top is 762 ft.
These are all amazing!!
