Canon 5D Mk IV – EF 50mm f/1.2L – 1/125, f/3.2, ISO 250, CWA Meter
Rainy day today, and chilly. We actually turned the heat on – the temp is down to 63. Anyway, sometimes opportunities just appear. I was standing at the bedroom back door looking out over the upper deck and the rain hitting the deck boards. I thought, why not? I then grabbed the camera and started snapping. I first started with the 70-200mm lens but was having difficulty focusing as I was right on the edge of the minimum focal distance. I switched to the 50mm and liked this better. I had to take over a 130 pics to get one I liked – it’s now the PotD.
This photo takes me back to when I took physics in high school (and then college) where you created ripples and then were able to measure wavlengths and frequency.
Shortly after taking the PotD, it started raining much harder, thundering, and the wind picked up. We heard a loud thud and went and looked out the front window. Below is what we saw. I’ll get it picked up tomorrow as I don’t want it destroying our grass.
So cool. Huge branch, dang!
