Canon 5D Mk IV – EF 50mm f/1.2L – 1/1250, f/1.2, ISO 100, CWA Meter

The Photo of the Day first started out as I only intended to take one pic, and that was going to be of the back patio. We are currently refurbishing it. We have power washed it extensively, a few days ago I filled in cracks with concrete, and today I painted in between the aggregate blocks. Next we’ll apply a semi-gloss sealer. After painting today, I was exhausted and told Roxie I was only going to take one pic – that would be the patio. You can see the pic below.

After I rested a bit, I took the camera and lit our bug torches. I took several pics and one of them made it as the PotD. One thing to note: I have been trying different metering modes for several months now. Most people stay on Evaluative mode I would guess. Lately, I have been using the Center-Weighted Average mode and am really liking it. I think with that mode, and the sweet bokeh this 50mm lens provides when wide open really makes this PotD work.
