Well it happened sooner than I thought, but we have a repeat photo subject, albeit with a twist. When we made the lasagne, it was 9lbs. So, we were looking at eating it for several days. Today made Day 3! We have about another 1.5 days of food left – not sure how much we’ll like it after we’re done…
Anyway, here’s the twist: It’s not really one image, it’s 19 photos merged together! This is a technique called Focus Stacking where you create a high definition image without any bokeh (out of focus areas). It’s particularly impressive with macro work. You can see this by clicking on the picture, then clicking the small zoom (+) sign in the upper right. Keep in mind this photo was resized for the web so detail won’t show as much as the original, but you will understand the concept. It’s interesting that I was unable to merge these 19 pictures in Lightroom – the finished product did not look right. I pushed the 19 photos into Photoshop and that worked fine.
Another thing I thought I’d do is to periodically post a ‘Guest” photo of a subject I took on the same date in the past. Today’s ‘Guest’ photo is one of our dear baby Bella. I took this on January 19, 2009, 13 years ago. She will always be a cutie!
