GoPro Hero 10 Black – 1/240, f/2.5, ISO 173, Average Meter

Note: This is an edited post.

This is one of the few times I’ve changed a PotD after posting it. After thinking about it some more, I felt like the original PotD must be better. I grabbed the GoPro again and, this time, I set it closer to the ground. This time I set it for 15 minutes, while still capturing an image every 5 seconds. Look at all the birds! I suppose I could go even closer to the ground, but I need to be cautious. In a few of the pics, there were some birds eyeing the camera – I wouldn’t want them pecking it!

And because it might interest you, this is what the setup looked like.

Original Post Below:

Today’s PotD was an experiment in getting close to nature. I had been thinking how I can get closer to the bird feeders without going through the glass. I realized that my GoPro has a handlebar mount that I could use on the Shepherds Hooks. I set up the GoPro for time-lapse photography for a one hour photo shoot with one picture being taken every 5 seconds. The result was over 700 photos!

In hindsight, the location I chose was not the best. Looking down doesn’t display the animals good enough. However, I will plan on doing more of these type of photos – it was fun. In the picture we have two squirrels and four birds.
