Canon 5D Mk IV – EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro – Two Einstein 640W Strobes – 1/200, f/2.8, ISO 100, Eval Meter
This PotD was more challenging than it looks. I originally wanted to use a 50mm lens with a 20mm extension tube. I set up the flowers and all was well – until I hit the table the flowers were on. I just could not get those darn flowers to cooperate. And the depth of field was razor thin and I just couldn’t get the lens to travel the distance needed to get both flowers focused.
I switched to my 100mm Macro lens and that did the trick. Using my macro rail, my remote, tripod, tethered computer, and my Einsteins, I was able to get what I need. In case you haven’t figured it out, this was a large focus stack – 50 images! The Zerene Stacking Software worked impressively well. I’m still wanting to do some kind of insect though.
Wow, that’s really pretty
