Canon 5D Mk IV – EF 100mm Macro – 3 Ext Tubes – MT 24EX Flash – 1/200, f/2.8, ISO 100, Eval Meter
So it’s come down to this…I’m so desperate to take a good macro shot of a bug, I went out in search of one. And…I found this. Ok, I’m not really desperate, but I know better bugs are out there, I just need to secure one.
I don’t know what kind of bug this was, but it was small. Is this even a bug, or a bug by-product? Maybe it’s a larvae? This pic was taken with the 100mm Macro lens and three extension tubes totaling 68mm! The lens was about 2 inches from the bug. I used the Twin-Macro flash because I couldn’t get the Einsteins positioned properly.
This pic is also a focus stack of 13 images. Setup was the same as yesterday (with the exception of the flash): computer tethered to camera, remote attached, camera on the macro rail which was on the tripod. To get an idea of the size, I took a pic with the G7 X of the subject next to a pencil. Now let’s get out and find a real bug!
Wow, just…wow. Very interesting…thing haha
