Acorns
5D Mk IV – EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro – 640W Strobes (x2) – 1/200, f/6.3, ISO 100, Eval Meter
I grabbed these acorn and acorn remnants and thought they’d make a nice PotD. This pic is actually a stack of 53 images. I set them on a piece of glossy photo paper because I wanted to get a bit of reflection. This was a typical focus stack set-up: tripod, macro rail, computer tethered to camera, and remote control. I had the lens set to manual focus, and initially focused on the piece of double acorn remnant closest to the lens. I then moved the rail a fraction, waited a few seconds then took the pic. I did that 53 times. I had two Einsteins set up on each side of the acorns and slightly high – this helped in getting the reflection. Zerene Stacker got all the images aligned. And Lightroom did the rest.
I give you ‘Acorns’ – the Photo of the Day.
Love the reflection and shadow details
