5D Mk IV – 100mm Macro – 640W Strobes (x3) – 1/200, f/4, ISO 100, Eval Meter

This little fellow cropped up today and Roxie thought it would make a good Photo of the Day. I’ve been begging for a good insect specimen for a while now. While this isn’t technically an insect, it is an insect exoskeleton. It was attached to a leaf so I brought both the leaf and it inside. I tried something a bit different with a light background. Typical macro set-up; I won’t go into details other than this was a 48 image focus stack. Three Einsteins were used – one on each side and one on top.

I still want an insect specimen so keep your eyes open!
