Today was a practice day. Tomorrow will be too. You see I have a real estate shoot coming up so I need to review the techniques for that type of shooting. There are several options to choose from but generally you will need a DSLR with a wide angle lens. Also, flashes/strobes, a tripod, and a remote shutter control. Typically you will want to keep the aperture set between 7 and 9, and the ISO 400 or less. This means shutter is what needs to be manipulated the most.
This picture of our dining nook was taken in one shot. I exposed for the outside through the window – that still gave a relatively slow shutter speed due to the later time of day. I had a flash set up with a diffuser and that was used as fill light, otherwise the rest of the room would have been underexposed. There are other techniques I will likely use. Booth involve exposure bracketing (without a flash). In one method, I set the bracket and take the photos. The other method involves setting the HDR mode on camera and let the camera handle the shot. The below image is that method but in Art Bold output – probably not really appropriate for a real estate photo (it distorts how it looks in real life), but thought I’d show you anyway.
Looking forward to using some of my abilities to getting a house sold!
Great shot!
Looks like some of the professional photos I’ve seen our friend take that does real estate photography!
