5D Mk IV – EF16-35mm f/2.8L – Variable shutter, f/8, ISO 100, Partial Meter
Well today I had an official real estate photo shoot. The photos I took will hopefully help it get a premium price. I brought a lot of my photo gear just to be ready, but found I used the 16-35mm lens, remote, flash, and tripod exclusively. Only a couple of shots were handheld – almost everything was done with the tripod given the slow shutter speeds I was using.
I also learned a lot. I have a couple pics where an object is not in an ideal location – I have to pay attention to those things. If the client wants a touchup photo, I’ll gladly do it. Otherwise, it was fun. These are preliminary photos. I’ll have to post-process the lot. These were all 3-photo composite HDR images. The longest exposure was 2.6 seconds. The shortest was 0.6 seconds.
One thing I noticed (but knew this going in) was the light coming in from the windows was still a little harsh. Maybe waiting a little later in the afternoon would provide a softer light.
Very good!
