5D Mk IV – EF 100mm Macro – 640W Strobes x3 – 1/200, F/5.6, ISO 100, Eval Meter
Today was an evaluation day. I downloaded and installed a trial version of competing Focus Stacking software – Helicon Focus. Today’s PotD is a composite of 17 images merged into one. The photo technique was the same as I’ve done with other similar photos; I won’t bore you with those details. My first impression with the software was that it was not as intuitive as the Zerene Stacker. However, the quality of the stacked photo is very good. One interesting tidbit about Helicon was observed. Apparently, this software originates in Ukraine – they mentioned that during the install specifically saying they were under difficult times.
I have 30 days to evaluate further so I’ll let everyone know.
Nice!
