I took a similar shot of a spider on the back deck on Day 169 (June 18). That one was a semi silhouette and the spider was much smaller. This one was HUGE – the size of my thumb although the picture doesn’t do it justice. It was pretty windy this afternoon and I took this pic in one shot (no focus stacking). I pretty happy with it given the wind was pushing this thing around like a mad man. The spider was also pretty fidgety and wouldn’t let me get too close before he scurried up to the roof. I’d have to wait a few minutes for him or her (sorry, I don’t know it’s pronouns) to come back down. I took a total of 306 pics of this cutie before I settled on this one. It’s not a true macro shot even though I used my macro lens. I was probably 4 to 5 feet away so it has been cropped a bit.
Very cool
