‘A Sea of Dying Trees’

This photo is an anomaly in more ways than one. First of all – full disclosure – I did not take it today. I actually took it on Day 260. I considered it as the PotD but I had so many good photos that day that I ultimately chose to not use this one. More on that later.

This PotD is titled ‘A Sea of Dying Trees’. When I first saw the photo, I immediately thought it looked like it was taken somewhere out west in the mountains, and it looked like dying trees. However, and here’s the second anomaly, those aren’t trees, it’s corn, and it was taken about 140 ft.

Now back to why I am using it today. I had every intention to use a pic I took today – and I took quite a few. I went out on the back deck at 3:30pm and sat for 2.5 hours waiting to get another pic of a hummingbird. I took photos of everything but a hummingbird – they never showed up. My intent was to use one of those photos, but they were all really boring. So….I remembered this photo and decided: ‘I make the rules’. Note one thing though, I am not going to make this a habit.
