5D Mk IV – EF 24-70 F/2.8 L – 1/40, f/6.3, ISO 100 Eval Meter

I’ve been meaning to go here for quite some time and grab a PotD; today I did just that. This is the bottom of the Oakdale Dam. After yesterday’s fiasco of not liking any of the pics I took (there’s only so many pics available at home) I was resolved to do something different. My 24-70mm lens was ideal for this shot. I had the variable neutral density filter on hand and had it set to 4 stops as I wanted to capture a slower water motion. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the best angle for that. Or I need more water coming out on the left side. Maybe another time…

It was a somewhat of a challenge getting the pic as the wind was roaring down here. I had the camera set up on the tripod with a 2 second delay. I had taken some pics with the ND filter maxed out and the shutter speed was 1/4. Those looked a little soft and I presume that was from the wind hitting the camera and tripod. I converted a version of this to black and white. Which do you like better?
