5D Mk IV – EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro – MT-24EX TwinLite Flash – 1/200, f/16, ISO 100, Eval Meter

I know you saw this Praying Mantis 3 days ago; it was the PotD on Day 274. We’ll it’s still hanging around, but for how long? That’s why I decided to do another pic of it as the PotD. This time, I took the pic with the mighty 5D and the 100mm macro lens with the macro TwinLite flash. This was a single shot (no focus stacking) and handheld. I experimented with a number of apertures but settled on f/16. I did have to reduce the flash exposure by one stop. At the normal setting, it was blowing out the eyes slightly.

Say goodbye to this fella, I don’t think it’ll be around much longer. It has been in the same spot for three days now. That is a dangerous thing for a bug.
