‘Hurricane Party’

Canon G7 X Mk II – 1/30, f/1.8, ISO 800, Eval Meter

Today was spent primarily cooped up indoors in a small condo because of the hurricane that hit Florida’s east coast. It was a Tropical Storm by the time it hit us, but it brought heavy rains and winds. In fact, we watched the place Guba and I stayed at last year, Pelican Pointe, take roof damage. The PotD is of the 5 of us enjoying our Hurricane Party. This was a simple photo to take. I put the G7 on a Joby tripod, put it on auto (I know…), set the timer for 10 seconds, and sat down with the group. I preffered the black and white since it adds to the blasé attitude of the environment.

The photo below was taken at 9am from the balcony overlooking Sand Key Beach at the height of the storm. It is not a B&W image.

This photo is of Clearwater Beach after the worst of the storm had passed. It was still very windy, and the seas were extremely rough still.
