Well, since the girls are in Seattle, and I’ve been struggling to get decent pics, I’ve decided to do another Guest Photo(s) of the Day! I gotta tell you, I really struggled with this one – so many good pictures to choose from. In all honesty, this was a toss up between the Ferris Wheel and the city with Mt Rainier in the back. Ultimately, I chose Mt Rainier. I had some additional editing involvement in that one besides the usual Lightroom post processing. If you look at the original, you’ll see I removed the reflections from the glass window. I also put a mask on Mt Ranier and added a bit of texture and contrast, and dehazed the mask to bring the mountain out. Those are things you’d have to do manually anyway, and it really doesn’t alter the photo from what the photographer intended.
The Ferris Wheel is a great shot – actually shots, since there was more than one. I posted the original pic below. Great contrast in this shot. For demonstration purposes, I posted a second pic where I removed the Crane. Sometimes, there are things that can get in the way of a shot that you’d rather not have in the photo. In the case of the crane, kinda hard to get the pic without moving a considerable distance or angle. This was actually a one minute operation in Lightroom. Let’s see what the photographer (Steph) has to say.
This is a shot of another photographer – Roxie – snapping away in the Ferris Wheel.
Lastly, Chukar Cherries have become a Holiday tradition with us. Here we have a pic of the Chukar Cherries store in Pike Place Market.
Oh these are great, dad! You did a wonderful job post processing them!
