5D Mk IV – EF 100mm Macro – 640W Strobes (x2) – 1/200, f/6.3, ISO 100, Eval Meter

Hmmm, this might be interesting or gross, depending on how you look at it. I was thinking of what to do for the PotD and I really wanted to put the Zerene Stacker software to the test. I happened to look at the hair brush upstairs and thought it might be a good test. It was long enough to have drastic changes in depth of field (dof), and yet show detail. This photo is actually a focus stack of 63 photos. I had the aperture set to f/6.3, and this still allowed for a pretty big change in dof. If you zoom in – and ignore the hair flakes, yuck – you can see very good detail across the length of the brush. I think I’m gonna like Zerene.

Just for reference, you can see the first pic which was focused on the front, and the last pic, which was focused on the far end. In between was 61 other photos.
