5D Mk IV – EF 24-70mm F/2.8L II – Einstein Studio Light – 1/125, f/8, ISO 100
I was in my office today looking at my patch board and thought this might make for a nice little picture. I had two of these boards at one point and, for space reasons, took one down. I also have a lot of additional patches in storage. The patches on this board represent the 11 weeks I spent in Quantico, VA attending the FBI National Academy in 1996. I met a great group of people. I was originally going to focus on a patch board of only State Police Agencies. Instead, this one has more meaning since these patches came from the officers I was closest to during my time there.
For this picture, I wanted the black velvet to pop against the colors of the patches. I set up a single Einstein Light with a beauty dish and diffuser, and set it so there was a higher flash output which resulted in an aperture of f/8. I like how it turned out.
Coincidentally, I was designated as the Section Photographer while at the FBINA, and have a large pile of photos I took while there.
