The temperature warmed up today, and will be even warmer the next two days, so much so that all of the snow will probably be gone by Tuesday. So I decided to go outside. After walking around a bit, I happened upon these footprints in the snow on ice. Getting under them proved tricky!
I didn’t have a flash on me, and normally I would have used oblique lighting to really make the image pop. In this case, the raw file was rather flat so I decided to see how I could enhance it in Lightroom. I jacked up the contrast and then pushed it even further by decreasing the shadows and blacks, and increasing the highlights and whites. I then pumped up the texture and clarity. Finally, I really increased the color temperature which gives it that warmer look (instead of a colder, bluish look).
It’s an optical illusion as it can look like you took the picture from under the feet. That’s what I thought at first and wondered how you did that. Very interesting!
