GOPRO HERO 10 Black – 1/950, f/2.5, ISO 100
I decided I’d try to do some pics with the GOPRO HERO 10 Black. I did a timelapse video last February for the snowstorm. Before that, I actually used it to take some pics indoors on Christmas Eve. I wasn’t impressed with the picture quality back then – I think it was more a function of low light with no flash and high ISO. Today was cloudy and off and on rain so there was some concern about the lighting, but I planned on being outside.
I was thinking about what I would shoot and was passing a soldiers cemetery when I made a quick detour into the Veteran’s Home. I’ve been wanting to photograph this place for awhile and since the GOPRO is called a HERO, it made perfect sense to make this the Photo of the Day.
I tried a setting on the GOPRO called Super Photo where the software is supposed to be optimized for the perfect exposure. The only issue is that they are processed in camera as a jpg. If you know me, you know I prefer shooting in RAW and in post-processing, convert to .jpg. Anyway, I think the Super Photo was hit or miss – I think I’ll stick to RAW.
I had the camera set to take wide angle pics which I like how they turned out. What I did find interesting in the photo below was the shutter speed of 1/680, and ISO of 224. Those seem odd and I’ve never seen them on any other camera.
This veteran has nothing but respect for the soldiers buried here.
This is awesome!!
