Canon G7 X Mk II – 1/250, f/11, ISO 125, Eval Meter

One of the things i like about the little G7 X is it’s ability to get real close to the ground and still be able to easily see what you are trying to capture. In this case, it happened to be a golf day, so I had an opportunity to get a unique putting perspective. For the PotD, I could have gone either color or B&W. I chose color because I liked the orange of the ball against the blueness of the sky.

Honestly, it was another busy day, plus it was really hot on the golf course, so getting a great PotD wasn’t a priority; in fact, I only took 3 shots today. But remember, some days will be like that, it is incredibly difficult to capture a unique, earth shattering, PotD. In fact, I don’t think it can be done. Instead, the beauty of the project lies in capturing every day life in an interesting composition.

For this shot, it was a manual setup – I was facing the sun so I wanted a small aperture (large depth of field), but still close to the sweet spot of the camera so I chose f/11. The shutter speed came out to 1/250 based on that and an ISO of 125. The hard part was getting a decent putt – the greens weren’t the best at this course.
